ADJUSTABLE BEDS FOR DISABLED PERSONS

1) Clause No: 4.0

Standard Requirement: The design of the bed shall allow mounting of side rails and lifting pole

Observation: No provision for lifting pole observed

2) Clause No: 4.0

Standard Requirement: It shall not be possible to position the bed in a hazardous position for the disabled person. The position of Trendelenburg for medical treatment (see EN 60601-2-38) shall not be possible,

Observation: Trendelenburg Position Observed


Electrical Testing Earlier there were four screw Rods, for:
1. up-down (for height adjustment)
2. lifting head
3. Lifting leg sheets, and
4. for providing Trendlenburg position






Safety Testing
Rectification done: Trendelenberg Positions were detached from the bed.

Note: Consists of only three screw Rods in which two screw rod (Left and Right Location-1,2) that can be used for lifting head and leg sheets and the other one(located below-3 )used for lifting the whole cot up and down. No other operations can be performed in this Bed .



3) Clause No: 5.5.1

Standard Requirement: The height of the upper most part of the mattress support platform in the centre point of the symmetry axis of the bed board in its flat position shall at least be adjustable from 400 mm to 800 mm above the floor.

Observation: Adjustment of (610mm – 955mm) only possible


Electrical Testing Equipment Rectification done: Bed adjustment is maintained from 400 to 800 mm.

4) Clause No: 5.5.4.2

Standard Requirement:
Angles of mattress support platform
a) The angle C between the back rest section and the upper leg section shall be greater than 90°.
b) The angle E between the upper side of the upper leg section and the upper side of the lower leg section shall be at least 180°.

Observation: a) <90º b) Angle < 180° can be easily achieved

2. Product Name: PORTABLE TABLE LAMP
Model No: 3 Watt LED Table Lamp
Applicable Standard: EN 60598-2-3



1) Clause No: 4.6.1,4.6.2,5.2.10

Standard Requirement: for portable luminaries, insulastion of flexible cables and cords shall be unlikely to be damaged when moving or adjusting the luminaire or when placing it on its support.

Observation: No cord anchorage used and wiring get damaged during (twisting) testing

Rectification done: Cord anchorage only required at the entry of the cable as per the action taken below Fig. with filled material it require to test for cord anchorage pull and twist test (As the cable entry becomes permanent in this case)

Standard Requirement: Portable luminaries shall have adequate stability. Complaince shall be checked by placing the luminaire in the most unfavorable position of normal use on a plane inclined at an angle of 6º to the horizontal, the surface of the plane being such that the luminaire does not slide & Luminaire shall not over turn.

Observation: Luminaries not stable when tested at 6º tilt. Overturn observed

3) Clause No: 4.10.1

Standard Requirement: Class II luminaires, prevention of contact between accessible metal parts and wiring with basic insulation only shall be effectively prevented.

Observation: Contact between accessible metal parts and wiring with basic insulation only observed which is not acceptable for Class ll luminaries


 The wiring which is in contact with accessible metal parts will be double insulatedRectification done: The wiring which is in contact with accessible metal parts will be double insulated

4) Clause No: 5.2.2

Standard Requirement: Flexible cables or cords supplied by manufacturer : conductor nominal cross sectional area = 0,75 mm² for ordinary luminaire or 1,00 mm² for other luminaries For portable luminaires with a mass less than 1 kg, a rated current not exceeding 2.5 A and provided with a flexible cable of length not greater than 2 m, the cable shall have a nominal cross-sectional area of copper conductor not less than 0.5 mm²

Observation: Cable and cord used are not showing compliance with IEC 60227 and IEC 60245

5) Clause No: 8.1

Standard Requirement:
Construction to avoid electric shock while and type of handling and Class 0 class I and class II luminaires intended for tubular tungsten filament lamps having a cap/base at each end shall incorporate a means of automatic double-pole disconnection operative when the lamp is being changed.

Observation:

Luminaries fails in accessibility to live parts as direct contact with bare hands observed
