Photobiological Safety of Lamps and Lamp Systems

Mandatory standard to meet for all LED Products to be sold in Europe, China, Canada and Asia

IEC 62471: 2009   “Photobiological Safety of Lamps and Lamp Systems”

IEC 62471 2009 Photobiological Safety of Lamps and Lamp Systems

IEC 62471 2009 Photobiological Safety of Lamps and Lamp Systems

The motive of this standard is to protect the user from injuries and blindness caused due to UV, IR and EM radiation emitted by LED Lights. If your product is not comply with IEC 62471 then your product is prohibited to sale in the above countries. Even for any damage you may be liable. Unfortunately, many manufacturer are unaware of photobiological safety testing. So, to export your products in the market ontact ITC India Pvt Ltd for Photo biological testing and you will be provided with best assistance. Please write to us at info@itcindia.org or visit us at www.itcindia.org .

Particularlly this standards states the exposure limits, reference measurement technique and classification scheme for the evaluation and control of photobiological hazards from all electrically powered incoherent broadband sources of optical radiation, including LEDs but excluding lasers, in the wavelength range from 200 nm through 3000 nm.
